The WBS Student Profiling System – Meet Me, is the first of its kind and the only profiling system recognised by the UK boarding schools. Our Student Profiles provide schools with an in depth understanding of each child’s individuality and capabilities
We specifically designed the system to support overseas students’ applications to UK boarding schools.
(Please note that you must be able to converse well in English to use Meet Me as you will be dealing directly with schools – This does not apply to WBS School Placement clients.)
Often, students applying from overseas get very little opportunity to visit schools. They also tend to come from large schools where the Head doesn’t know them well and therefore references provided can be quite basic.
We also appreciate how much money you spend on your children’s extra curricular hobbies and interests. We wanted to give you a way of showing off /cashing in on/utilising/ profiting from your investment by finding/ that investment to find your child the perfect school here in the UK.
Late Applications
Once your child’s profile is live in Meet Me, schools across the country, with availability, will be able to access it, saving you hours of researching and calling round schools as they will contact you (or WBS if you are our client).
Benefits to your Child
- Whilst building their Student Profile your child will naturally prepare for their interviews with the schools
- Your child will only need to take entrance tests at schools that have already learned so much about them and have expressed a positive interest in them
- Getting your child involved in the way they are presented to schools gives them a sense of ownership and responsibility – two great learning curves
- A WBS Student profile is an excellent first step towards understanding what is expected of you as a student in a UK boarding school
with the schools
When you register, you will set up a username and password. You will need this to access your child’s profile and your INBOX where schools will send messages to.
To build their profile students are required to:
- write a personal statement
- record a short video about themselves
- upload any additional videos of them playing an instrument/playing a sport/dancing etc.
- upload their latest school reports
- add additional information on their interests and hobbies
- upload photographs to visualise their lives
Parents are required to provide information on:
- the type of school they are looking for
- the locations they will consider
- the year their child will enter the school
- the course their child wishes to study
- any specific requirements
Using Meet Me

As a WBS School Placement Client our team will work side by side with you to build your child’s Student Profile. We will provide support on every aspect of its content.
If you are using Meet Me independently from our School Placement Service then we do offer hourly consultations should you need us along the way.
Once a child’s profile is complete our system matches them to all schools registered on our platform – learn more about the schools we work with by clicking here, using relevant filters
The system uses the following filters:
- Gender
- Age
- Entry Year availability
- Course chosen (GCSE one year course/A-levels etc.)
- Locations (South West/Scotland/London etc.)
- Type of school (boarding/day/study centre etc.)
Your child’s profile is then delivered to all matching schools.
The schools receive a notification that your child’s profile is available to view.
Interested schools will send a message to your WBS INBOX. Some schools will send you detailed messages and others will simply ask you to contact them.
You might not get a message from all schools. Here are a few reasons why:
- They now don’t have availability in your child’s entry year group
- They don’t offer something you have requested (such as horse riding lessons)
- They don’t offer the subjects your child wishes to study
- They don’t offer English as a Second Language Support
- They have already recruited their quota of students from your country
- You have missed their application deadline for your child’s entry year group

From the School’s profile, you can access their website and links to valuable information about the school.
You will also find the contact details of the people in the admissions teams.
From here you can arrange visits and ask as many questions as you like! Once you have visited the schools they will guide you through the next steps of the application process and our work is done.
If you are a WBS School Placement client we will be the ones the schools contact about your child, and we will be the ones to discuss the schools with you, arrange your visits, accompany you on those visits and deal with the application process there forth.
